05/02/2023 PAY GRADE: starting at $50,000/yr.FLSA EXEMPTION STATUS: POSITION LOCATION: District OfficeSTATUS: Full Time PositionJOB FAMILY - Direct Client ServicesJOB SUMMARY Tejano Center for Community Concerns is currently seeking a therapist/Counselor to work with clients of the Victims of Crime Outreach & Support Program (Resolve), a program of the TCCC family of program. This position requires experience providing evidence based trauma-informed treatment to victims of crime and abuse. The population consists of children, adolescents, and adults; treatment includes individual treatment and group programming. Experience providing trauma therapy, conducting assessments using standardized measures (assessment tools), completing intakes and maintaining accurate and current case records, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing clinical expertise to crisis hot-line callers, facilitating supportive and educational groups for victims' families and the community, and coordinating professional trainings for other professionals within the community.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, could possibly work evenings and weekends as needed. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in related field
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)QUALIFICATIONS Requires a Bachelor's degree in a Social Services fieldLicensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in TexasA clean, valid driver's license for three years is a must as is successful completion of our background check process (fingerprinting, Statewide Central Registry, etc)Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)Experience working with victims of crime and abuseMAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provides supportive individual, group, crisis and family counseling as needed. Screen new clients to identify presenting problems, address urgent issues and/or provide immediate referral as indicated. Administer psychosocial assessments. Collaborate with clients, case workers and or victims advocate to develop and implement client-centered interventions and treatment plans.
Attend all meetings as required.
Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Keep abreast of developments in therapeutic techniques, theories and research. Re-assess clients and complete new treatment plans as indicated.
