About
At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will have gained hands-on experience working with real-world clinical data.
This role is ideal for a student studying data science, statistics, or a related field who is interested in applying analytical skills to healthcare and medical research.
This is a part-time summer internship position (less than 30 hours a week), working with the Clinical team at Kestra.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Clean and prepare clinical research datasets for analysis
* Analyze medical history and Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator performance data
* Conduct statistical analysis using R and/or Python
* Create visualizations to communicate findings
* Project Presentation: Present internship results and findings to the Clinical Marketing team and Kestra executive leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience Required:
* 3rd year or higher undergraduate in Data Science, Statistics or related field
* Familiarity with data cleaning and exploratory data analysis
* Basic understanding of statistics
* Ability to work with structured datasets and communicate analytical findings clearly
* Strong attention to detail and curiosity about data
Preferred:
* Experience with R or Python
* Interest in healthcare, clinical, or medical device
WORK ENVIRONMENT
* Indoor open office environment
* Minimal noise volume typical to an office environment
* Extended/overtime hours when needed

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY
* Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months
* Must not have completed one year of continual employment with Kestra Medical Technologies
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must possess unrestricted work authorization
* Must complete a criminal and employment background screening that meets the allowable FDA requirements and is in accordance with EEOC rules and regulations
* Must complete a pre-internship drug screen
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Frequent repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as keyboard and mouse usage
* Frequent stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
* Frequent computers use
* Frequent phone and other business machine use
* Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
TRAVEL
Occasional travel, domestic and international, may be required, less than 10%

This role is an in-office position Monday - Thursday, in Kirkland, Washington with the flexibility to work from home on Fridays.
