Responsibilities:
+ Perform MRI procedures at a technical level without constant supervision while maintaining excellence in image quality and patient safety. Demonstrate independent judgment and initiative in day‑to‑day practice.
+ Maintain clinical competency across all MRI exams, protocols, and equipment. Ensure readiness to perform a full range of procedures.
+ Practice and maintain MRI safety standards throughout the department. Promote a culture of safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
+ Verify patient identity using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for all procedures. Review physician orders, patient history, and departmental protocols, including preparation, labeling, and administration of contrast.
+ Review relevant clinical information prior to examinations and communicate findings to the physician in accordance with established protocols. Document patient history accurately in the electronic medical record.
+ Ensure all exams are properly coded, documented, and tracked through the RIS system and Rad Assessment. Confirm images are networked to ISITE for archiving, interpretation, and charge capture.
+ Perform procedures related to reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging studies. Maintain accuracy and completeness of all image records.
+ Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to explain procedures, reduce anxiety, and encourage cooperation. Demonstrate dignity, respect, and attentive listening in all interactions.
+ Collaborate effectively with colleagues and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and high‑quality care. Foster a positive and supportive work environment.
+ Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT or ARDMS program.
+ ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date.
+ MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained.
+ CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
