What You'll Do
+ Ensure all medications are properly labeled and handed to the surgeon according to policy.
+ Prepare the operating room with instruments, sterile drapes, solutions, and equipment-ensuring everything is functioning and ready.
+ During surgery, pass instruments and sterile supplies, assist with retractors, sutures, sponging, suctioning, and counting items.
+ Handle, prepare, and care for specimens collected for lab analysis and help apply dressings.
+ Assist the surgical team with donning sterile gowns and gloves.
+ Post‑procedure, help
