Major Functions:
Conduct psycho-educational testing during the school term to determine the presence of a disability, which may lead to eligibility for special education services. Primary duties are to administer, score, and interpret assessments and to communicate the implications of the assessment results to parents and school staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Teacher Support Teams
- Collaborate with District Review Team
- Complete comprehensive initial and re-evaluations
- Assess in appropriate physical, social/emotional, cognitive, academic, and behavioral areas
- Conduct eligibility meetings
- Observe students with social/emotional/behavioral concerns during the evaluation process
- Collaborate with IEP committee on referral concerns
- Participate in MET meetings
- Participate in IEP meetings
- Consult with school personnel regarding special education inquiries
- Adhere to the Mississippi Code of Ethics
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all Desoto County Schools' records
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree and certification in school psychology as set by board and state certification authorities
