Senior Associate Platform Engineer
Job Description

We’re looking for Senior Associate Platform Engineer to join the Platform Services team.
As Senior Associate Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the provision, administration and maintenance of Qualifications Scotland’s security infrastructure, through the deployment of security technologies and controls such as antimalware software, firewalls/web application firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, backup software, and vulnerability scanning. To do this you must have experience in the following specific duties:
support the resolution of security issues and incidents reported through monitoring and SIEM tools and/or raised by colleagues
support, implement and maintain remediation action required from vulnerability management sources
maintain and monitor firewall, IDS/IPS and antimalware products
implement baseline security standards across various IT infrastructure
You must also have the following skills and experience:
understanding of administering virtual environments, specifically Nutanix
understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code and automation
knowledge of Cyber Essentials
knowledge of backups and disaster recovery
good understanding of either, or both, Linux or Windows operating systems
knowledge of networking technologies and protocols
familiarity with following change management processes and working in an ITIL environment
educated to SCQF level 8 ideally in an IT discipline and/or demonstrate equivalent relevant experience of working in a similar IT role and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role
