*Summary:*
The Project Manager is responsible for the management of a subset of company laser welding systems and related industrial automation projects. They have an emphasis on project management through maintenance of schedules, resources, budgets, and customer communications. They provide a source of integration between disciplines including customers, engineering departments, manufacturing, service, and upper management. This role strives to bring alignment to all functional groups to prioritize tasks and deliver customer products on time.
The Project Manager is also responsible for contributing to the implementation of continuous improvement plans across the organization. Coordinating with management as well as engineering and manufacturing employees; they generate strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity. They also analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement.
This role provides guidance to engineering and manufacturing to improve quality of JTA product through design and production. Where applicable, this role may also assist with mechanical or electrical design and programming when needed and able.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
· Build, maintain, and adapt project organizational structure, work breakdown structures, and sprint tasks as needed.
· Assist with technical decisions and priorities for achieving project success.
· Coordinate internal and external meetings to maintain communication between stakeholders, customers, vendors, and other parties involved.
· Coordinate day-to-day aspects of managed project(s) including status reporting, action logs, manufacturing logs, resource allocation, document generation, and task management.
· Assist supply chain in vendor communication and lead time management as needed.
· Report on progress to program manager.
· Work with customers to ensure their needs are understood and met.
· Maintain complete understanding of cross disciplinary requirements and project roles to ensure project deadlines are met or improved.
· Manage project scope per the project statement of work. Work with customers if there is a change of scope.
· Assist in maintenance of organization-wide project status reports.
· Provide leadership and guidance to operational functions, including but not limited to, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
· Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
· Implementation of standard work to document company processes.
· Establish and enforce operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
· Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
· Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance cross-functional communication.
· Identify emerging trends and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and adapt to changing market conditions.
· Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and partners, to drive collaboration and enhance business outcomes.
*Non-Essential Duties:*
· Assist with design and assembly of mechanical and electrical systems including component selection, layout, 3D modeling, and fabrication.
· Work with engineers to test systems and programming and validate compliance with customer requirements.
· Perform modifications to existing components to solve manufacturing issues.
*Required Qualifications:*
· Bachelor’s degree in the engineering field or equivalent
· 5+ years’ experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
· Familiarity with industrial automation
· Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, production workers, customers, and vendors.
· Highly motivated to adapt to situations requiring multi-disciplinary thinking.
· Self-sufficient and independent work style with general supervision.
· Hands on experience in the design and implementation of electro-mechanical systems
*Desired Qualifications:*
· Project Management Certification is a plus (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, or other PM certificates)
· Experience or knowldege of welding and/or laser applications.
*Specialized Equipment Knowledge:*
· Machine shop tools (knee mill, engine lathe, surface grinder, belt grinder, etc.)
· Manual, electrical, and pneumatic hand tools (Calipers, height stand, dial indicator, micrometer, etc.)
· Electrical fabrication equipment (Soldering iron, crimping tools, panel fabrication, etc)
*Specialized Software Knowledge:*
· Project Management Software Experience (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet’s, Asana, etc.)
· Microsoft Office Suite including Visio
SolidWorks CAD and Electrical are a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
