Cashier Position at Staten Island FerryHawks

Staten Island FerryHawks SIUH Stadium is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Cashier to join the team at one of Staten Island's premier sports and entertainment venues, located along the scenic waterfront. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive and efficient fan experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

The Cashier is responsible for handling transactions quickly and accurately at concession stands and retail points throughout the stadium, ensuring every guest receives friendly and efficient service. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to stay composed during high-volume game days and events.

Key responsibilities include processing cash and card payments, maintaining accurate cash drawers, providing menu or product information to guests, and ensuring cleanliness and organization at the point of sale. The Cashier will work closely with team members and supervisors to keep lines moving efficiently and uphold high standards of service.

Essential Functions

  • Process cash, credit, and mobile payments quickly and accurately during high-volume events.
  • Provide friendly, efficient customer service to ensure a positive fan experience.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance it at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for food, beverages, and merchandise transactions.
  • Handle and serve food and beverages safely, following all hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Assist with basic food and beverage preparation, such as pouring drinks or assembling simple items.
  • Answer customer questions about menu items, pricing, and promotions.
  • Keep concession or sales areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and stadium policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to keep lines moving efficiently.
  • Practice safe work habits and complete company and venue safety and general position compliance training.
  • Maintain a pleasant and collaborative attitude towards customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Adheres to the Legends Global and venue company policies.
  • Complete other duties assigned by management.
  • Available to work none-traditional hours (Nights, Weekends & Holidays)

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems accurately
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage handling and safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Dependability, teamwork, and a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with POS systems and scheduling software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate of $19.15 per hour, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift/move/maneuver at least 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Standing, walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to carry objects and items.
