We are looking for a Head of Software (m/f/d) to join our headquarters in Stuttgart.

• Department Leadership: Inspire and lead a high performing team of Software, Firmware, and Test Engineers (5 FTEs, across 2 continents).
• Technical Leadership Software: Lead the software development section, make architectural decisions, perform code reviews, and ensure robust solutions.
• Quality & Processes: Own the process landscape. Take active steps to ensure a modern development workflow by establishing best practices to ship software that is high quality and delivered on time.
• Innovation and Research: Drive innovation, stay updated on industry trends, and represent the software department in management meetings. Promote a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Collaboration: Apply cross-functional understanding and work with other department heads to ensure smooth deployment of new software to series production. Manage stakeholders across several continents (EU, US, APAC).
• Career Development: Coach and mentor department members and encourage continuous learning.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in a hardware context.
• Strong software architecture and design knowledge.
• Proficiency in at least 3 out of these technologies: C#, Qt , C++, WPF,  Typescript, Python, YAML-based CI/CD, Yocto, Raspberry Pi.
• Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus.
• Cross-functional problem-solving skills.
• Experience in life sciences or laboratory automation is advantageous.
