*Job Overview:*
*Aspen Acres* is seeking a dedicated and passionate *Cook* to join our Assisted Living Community. As a *Cook*, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appetising meals for our residents in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Your role is essential in promoting a positive dining experience and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Meal Preparation:*
* Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to the established menus and dietary requirements.
* Ensure meals are palatable, visually appealing, and served at the appropriate temperatures.
* Modify recipes and menus to accommodate specific dietary needs and preferences of residents.
*Food Safety and Sanitation:*
* Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
* Regularly inspect kitchen equipment and appliances to ensure proper functioning.
* Follow proper procedures for food storage, handling, and disposal.
*Inventory Management:*
* Monitor inventory levels and order food and supplies as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of food usage and waste.
* Assist in receiving and verifying deliveries of food and supplies.
*Team Collaboration:*
* Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and dietary aides.
* Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
* Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
*Resident Interaction:*
* Engage with residents to understand their dietary preferences and special requests.
* Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
* Address and resolve any resident concerns related to meals.
*Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare, assisted living, or similar environment preferred.
* Knowledge of dietary guidelines and restrictions for elderly populations.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
