Job Description
Aegis is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to join our client's organization in Chicago. (60629) The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:
* Minimum 4 years of design engineering experience. * Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software and AutoCAD. * Strong mechanical design skills including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and assemblies to ANSI standards. * Hands-on experience comfortable working at heights (up to 20ft), taking field measurements, using scissor lifts. * Ability to pass a physical, drug test (9-panel, non-marijuana), and background check. * Comfortable working with desk/office on the plant floor.
Plus Haves:
* Design experience for food manufacturing plant equipment. * Conveyor and material handling design experience. * Knowledge of packaging machinery (wrapping, vertical bagging, weighing, robotic equipment). Knowledge of process/plant equipment (extruders, pumps, heat exchangers, low pressure boiler systems). * Familiarity with food processing GMP practices. * Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements for industrial applications. * Experience coordinating with food OEM partners.
