Solution Architect – Automation & Connectivity Houston, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite weekly) Contract through end of 2026 (expected to extend) We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect specializing in Automation & Connectivity to support large-scale enterprise infrastructure and network transformation initiatives within a complex global environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in enterprise networking, cloud connectivity, infrastructure automation, and solution architecture who enjoys working across both strategic design and hands-on technical delivery. Responsibilities Serve as the lead Solution Architect across enterprise connectivity and automation initiatives Design scalable, secure, and future-ready end-to-end infrastructure solutions Integrate business process, application, data, infrastructure, and security requirements into cohesive architectures Drive architecture governance and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices Review and approve detailed technical designs produced by engineering and delivery teams Collaborate with operations, engineering, security, procurement, and vendor teams Support architecture review processes and contribute to enterprise reference models Champion Security by Design and Privacy by Design principles Ensure solutions are operationally supportable and optimized for long-term ownership Key Technical Requirements Strong experience in enterprise networking and connectivity architecture Deep knowledge of network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Hands-on experience with: Ansible APIs and workflow automation GitHub and CI/CD pipelines Smart inventory / Source of Truth platforms such as NetBox Strong cloud networking expertise across AWS and Azure, including: VPC/VNET VPN Transit Gateway Virtual firewall technologies Experience with Cisco data center networking technologies Experience with Aruba ESP solutions, including: Aruba Central ClearPass Wireless platforms Knowledge of identity and authentication technologies: SAML Entra ID PingID Required Experience 7–10+ years of experience within IT infrastructure, networking, or architecture Previous experience in Solution Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, or Network Architecture roles Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Experience working within large enterprise or global environments Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders Experience with vendor engagement, product selection, and solution evaluation Preferred Background Experience within large-scale enterprise, energy, manufacturing, telecom, or highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
