Context on the role
The ideal individual will bring definitive value to the Procurement organization via analytical rigor, structured methodology to existing and new spend, market knowledge and spend leverage within the Events categories. Responsibilities include: Job Duties: Understanding needs and requirements of internal stakeholders on current and future spend for the Marketing & Events categoryPartnering with internal stakeholders to define category strategy, and approach to leveraging spend across the functional organizationsCoordinating with all business units, business owners and other functional organizations to ensure on time delivery, cost expectations and inventory targetsDeveloping and managing supplier relationships, metrics and performanceProviding market intelligenceLeading supplier negotiations including RFP/RFQ processes, contract management, and long term strategic negotiations to obtain maximum value proposition and meeting savings targetsRecognizing and understanding supply risk to the organization, work with suppliers and internal stakeholder to resolve or suggest alternative solutions. Requirements: BS/MS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Industrial Engineering3-5 years of relevant experience within a procurement function (primary needs are currently in the Marketing/Events fields)Technical background a plus Familiarity with Service Agreements, SOWs and general legal termsStrong analytical/negotiation skills and proven track record in Supplier Management and negotiationsGood problem solving and analytical skills with ability to handle multiple tasks at once and switch between strategic and detail-oriented thinkingFlexibility to adapt to dynamic and rapidly changing environmentsEffective Communicator with the ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships internally including cross functional and cross site collaborationCommitment to learn and develop new skillsUnderstanding of cost modeling and business financial acumen preferredExperience with SAP or Oracle as MRP system preferredStrong IT skills.
