Principal Analytics EngineerRole OverviewWe are seeking a Principal Analytics Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and scalability of our analytics data platform. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who has deep hands-on expertise in dbt, SQL, Python, and cloud data warehousing, and who has experience shaping data architecture, modeling standards, and engineering best practices across teams.This role is ideal for someone who does more than build pipelines or reports. We are looking for a leader who can define how data should be modeled, tested, governed, and delivered to support reliable analytics at scale. The right candidate will bring strong technical depth, architectural judgment, and the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.What You ll DoLead the design and evolution of scalable analytics data architecture across the organizationDefine and implement best practices for analytics engineering, including modeling, testing, documentation, and maintainabilityBuild and optimize data models using dbt and modern cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake or Amazon RedshiftDesign scalable data models using approaches such as Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault, or similar frameworks, with clear rationale for when to use eachWrite high-quality, performant SQL and use Python for data pipeline development, tooling, testing, or automationEstablish standards for project structure, reusability, testing strategy, and long-term maintainability in dbt environmentsIdentify and resolve systemic data quality, reliability, and trust issues across datasets and workflowsPartner with analytics, engineering, product, and business teams to align data architecture with business needsCommunicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and architectural direction clearly to a range of stakeholdersHelp drive technical direction across teams and elevate the overall maturity of the data organizationWhat We re Looking For10+ years of total experience in data-focused roles, with significant depth in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data ArchitectureProven track record of owning and evolving large-scale data architectures, not just contributing within themExpert-level proficiency in SQLStrong hands-on experience with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake or Amazon RedshiftDeep expertise with dbt, including advanced project structure, testing, modular design, and scalable implementation patternsStrong experience designing scalable data models using Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault, or similar approachesStrong Python skills applied to data engineering, testing, automation, or toolingExperience influencing technical direction and working across multiple teamsProven ability to identify and solve broad data quality and reliability issues at an organizational levelStrong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearlyWhat Makes Your Candidacy Stand Out Strong point of view on data modeling philosophy and when to apply different approachesExperience building or maturing an analytics engineering practiceAbility to balance hands-on technical execution with architectural leadershipStrong track record improving trust, quality, and scalability in analytics data environmentsExperience mentoring teams or setting standards that improve consistency across the organizationWhat Makes HTC A Great Place To Build Your FutureHTC Global Services wants you to join our team.
