Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000
About the Role
LHH has partnered with a stable and growing company in East Rutherford, NJ that is seeking a driven Accounts Payable professional to join their accounting team. This is an on-site role ideal for someone with strong AP experience who is eager to continue building their accounting skillset and grow into a Staff Accountant position over time. You'll work closely with senior accounting leadership and gain exposure beyond AP, including month-end activities and general accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle Accounts Payable , including invoice review, coding, and posting
- Manage vendor setup, payment runs, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate AP records and support audits and documentation requests
- Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to ensure timely payments
- Assist with month-end close tasks and reconciliations as your role expands
- Support special projects and process improvements within the accounting team
- Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
- Strong hands-on experience in Accounts Payable
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in career growth beyond AP into broader accounting responsibilities
