Compensation: Estimated $70,000-$120,000 annually, commensurate with experience
A well-established Chicago law firm is seeking an experienced Plaintiff-Side Employment Law Litigation Paralegal to join its team. This role supports attorneys handling a wide range of employment matters and is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive paralegal with experience managing cases from intake through resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive litigation support in plaintiff-side employment law matters
- Assist with cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and related claims
- Draft, file, and manage pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
- Maintain case files, track deadlines, and manage litigation calendars
- Organize, review, and summarize personnel files, employment records, and discovery materials
- Assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, experts, and opposing counsel
- Handle state and federal court filings, including e-filing
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience; employment law experience strongly preferred
- Plaintiff-side employment law experience highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of Illinois and federal court procedures
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
