Job Description
The Quality Improvement Data Analyst will support the objectives of the Quality Improvement department, with the primary role of streamlining data reporting that will provide analytics for decision making. This position will have data management, analysis and reporting responsibilities with the goal of delivering timely, efficient and effective data and information to various departments and leaders to drive the improvement of quality and patient safety across the organization. The Quality Analyst will have advanced analytical knowledge and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications. This position will use various sources of internal and external databases that will be used to extract data, populate and provide meaningful information to end users that drive decision making. Will support the team in designing, evaluating and updating quality databases and tools used for quality reporting. May lead teams to address complex data needs for reporting or quality improvement activities. Provides technical support, recommends, creates and implements enhancements that will support improved performance, efficiency, accuracy and reliability of the systems. This position is an essential resource that works collaboratively within the system and site QI Department and other departments to provide analytics and reports that include, but not limited to, patient experience, hospital audits, restraints, infection prevention, readmissions, mortality, patient safety indicators, and any indicators that are part of National, State or local agency quality reports, (CMS IQR/OQR, CMS Star Ratings, Leapfrog, US News World Report, registries, are examples).
Education And Credentials
AAS degree in Health Information Technology or Data Analytics or Health Care Administration or health related degree. Bachelor's degree Health Information or Data Management, Health Analytics or Computer Science, Business or equivalent field preferred. If AAS degree, then one of the preferred licenses or certifications required.
Experience
One (1) year experience in data management experience required, three (3) years' experience in data management or coordination in a hospital setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and statistical terms, office practice procedures, including verbal and written communication skills, computer and software skills. Knowledge of computer applications, which include Word, Excel, the Internet and utilization of other Hospital based computer programs.
