Job Title: Senior Structural Design Lead (Advanced Industrial Infrastructure)
Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Structural Design Lead to act as a primary technical authority and team coordinator for large-scale, advanced industrial infrastructure projects. In this high-level role, you will go beyond individual production to lead multi-contributor workstreams, structuring complex 3D models and ensuring the delivery of coordinated, construction-ready documentation. You will be responsible for the quality and constructability of deliverables produced by yourself and others, serving as a bridge between engineering, BIM coordination, and field execution. The ideal candidate is a Revit expert with a "Culture of Care" mindset who can balance workloads, enforce standards, and drive solutions in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities • Technical Leadership: Lead the development and coordination of complex 3D structural models across major project areas, ensuring alignment with advanced software workflows and industrial standards. • Scope Accountability: Take full ownership of assigned work packages, including responsibility for the quality, completeness, and constructability of deliverables produced by the design team. • Multi-Contributor Coordination: Structure work for other designers, monitoring progress and balancing workloads to meet aggressive project deadlines while preventing misalignment or rework. • Interdisciplinary Alignment: Coordinate directly with engineers and other disciplines (MEP, Architectural, Process) to resolve complex design and constructability conflicts. • Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Lead internal and external reviews, acting as the primary point of accountability to ensure work is coordinated and ready for issue. • BIM/VDC Management: Serve as the BIM, Clash, or QA/QC Lead for major workstreams, advancing design automation and emerging technologies to improve project delivery. • Conflict Resolution: Lead coordination discussions and drive technical resolutions, ensuring decisions are translated into aligned execution across the model and drawing sets.
Qualifications & Requirements • Education: Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) or an equivalent technical field. • Professional Experience: oMinimum of 10 years of drafting and design experience specifically within the structural engineering field. oMinimum of 5 years of expert-level experience using Revit in an industrial context. • Technical Mastery: oProven ability to lead the design of traditional steel and concrete structures for complex facilities. oExpertise in Navisworks and Bluebeam for coordination and review. • Leadership Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multi-contributor scopes. • Logistics: Must reside within 50 miles of Phoenix, AZ to support the hybrid work model (minimum 2 days onsite per week).
Preferred Credentials • 15+ years of structural design experience. • 8+ years of Revit experience. • Experience with specialized industrial software such as Tekla or SmartPlant. • Extensive background in advanced manufacturing, high-tech, or large-scale industrial facility design.
