Position Title - Student Worker- CSS Embedded Tutor Position Classification - Student Worker Employment Type - Part-Time Benefits - Not Applicable Department - Student Life & Student Success Summary - Plans and facilitates collaborative learning study sessions for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in targeted core courses. Duties - Attends mandatory leader training prior to the start of each semester. Attends all class meetings of targeted course, takes notes, and completes assigned readings. Plans and facilitates three-to-five study sessions each week per course utilizing collaborative learning methodologies. Assists students in the development of appropriate study skills. Maintains consistent communication with supervisory staff regarding session meeting times and locations. Attends weekly meetings with supervisory staff and faculty members. Collects attendance data for each session and engages in marketing activities during class meetings in order to promote attendance in sessions. Distributes, collects and returns various supplemental instruction surveys. Completes necessary personnel and administrative paperwork. Models appropriate academic attitudes and behaviors to staff, faculty and students. Performs work in a timely manner and meets all deadlines. Maintains all information confidential. Provides a broad range of administrative functions. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy. Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Background - Current WNMU student. Job Knowledge - Excellent customer service and communication skills. Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge of basic academic skills application and the ability to demonstrate the successful application of various academic skills. Skill in general office duties and office equipment to include telephones, copier, Fax, and computer/computer programs. Must be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications. Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations) - Normal office environment. May be required to lift normal office equipment and materials. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/ conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing, and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting. Other Requirements Location - Silver City
