Shift Lead

The Role:

As a Shift Lead, you are responsible for leading the team during your shiftensuring smooth operations, strong customer service, and consistent execution.

You'll act as the bridge between the team and management, setting the tone, making real-time decisions, and keeping everyone focused and accountable.

Responsibilities:Lead the Shift
  • Take full ownership of the store when the GM or Assistant Manager is not present
  • Assign positions and responsibilities based on strengths ("aces in their places")
  • Make real-time decisions during rushes to keep service smooth and efficient
Deliver Great Customer Experience
  • Ensure every guest receives fast, friendly, and accurate service
  • Lead by example as the most positive and engaged team member on shift
  • Handle customer concerns using a structured, empathetic approach
Coach & Develop the Team
  • Train and support team members across all stations (register, line, prep, etc.)
  • Provide real-time coaching and feedback
  • Reinforce standards for quality, cleanliness, and service
Drive Operational Excellence
  • Ensure compliance with all operational standards (uniform, food quality, cleanliness)
  • Maintain focus on completing prep and cleaning tasks
  • Keep the team productive and on track throughout the shift
Manage the Rush
  • Lead high-volume periods with confidence and urgency
  • Direct team movement and workflow during peak times
  • Keep communication clear and focused under pressure
Support Store Performance
  • Help manage labor by directing clock-ins/outs as needed
  • Maintain awareness of productivity and efficiency
  • Communicate issues, wins, and opportunities to management
Handle Opening & Closing Duties
  • Open and/or close the store independently
  • Complete required paperwork, deposits, and checklists
  • Ensure the store is clean, stocked, and ready for the next shift

Key Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in food service, retail, or a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Age 18+
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including peak times
  • Certified Food Protection Manager
