Location: Village on the Park McKinney, an assisted living with memory care senior community
Pay rate: $16.50/hr. - $17/hr.
Shifts available:
- 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
- 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
- Serve meals in the dining room or residents' apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
- Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
- Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
- Know each resident's location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
- Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
- Attend all required in-service training sessions.
- Be an active member of the community's emergency response team.
- Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.
Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
