Overview
We are seeking experienced Data Engineers to support delivery within a large‑scale Government data exploitation programme. You'll be working within an established ETL and data platform, contributing to mission‑critical data services in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using Talend Build and manage Oracle SQL and DDL artefacts (Oracle RDS) Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) Investigate and resolve defects across development and test phases Conduct component testing, including test data creation Support QA, performance testing, and production releases Perform peer reviews of development and testing artefacts Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members Participate in agile ceremonies and cross‑team collaboration
Skills & Experience Required
Strong hands‑on experience with Talend (essential) Solid experience with Oracle databases (RDS preferred) Strong SQL and data modelling capability Experience working within structured SDLC and testing frameworks Familiarity with CI/CD tools, ideally GitLab Experience in enterprise or public sector environments (desirable) Must be SC Eligible
Additional Notes
Individuals with experience in Pentaho or Informatica ETL may be considered. While Talend is the preferred skillset, we may include up to 1-2 candidates who can be quickly cross‑trained into Talend
