Join one of the fastest growing childcare organizations in the country and step into a leadership role where your impact is felt every single day.
We are seeking a driven, highly organized, and inspiring Assistant Director to partner with our awesome Center Director in leading a high quality preschool program. This is a true co-leadership role where you will help manage daily operations, lead and develop staff, and confidently step into full center leadership.
We are looking for someone who brings positive, energetic leadership while also commanding respect through consistency, professionalism, and strong follow through. The ideal candidate is not only responsive but proactive, someone who anticipates needs, plans ahead, and ensures the school is set up for success rather than simply reacting to day to day challenges.
This role directly influences the growth and development of both children and teachers, helping create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Our motto is “Happy Happens Here,” and we are looking for a leader who brings that energy to life every single day.
What You Will Do:
Leadership and Team Development
- Partner closely with the Center Director to lead all aspects of center operations
- Coach, support, and develop teachers to ensure high quality classroom execution
- Conduct classroom observations, evaluations, and provide meaningful, growth oriented feedback
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Manage staffing schedules, coverage, and ratios to ensure compliance and operational stability
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and maintenance of employee files in compliance with licensing standards
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Oversee incident reporting, medication administration, and emergency preparedness drills
- Conduct regular internal reviews and center assessments to maintain quality standards
- Manages the relationship with the District Manager in partnership with the Center Director to ensure high-quality standards are met, and conducts regular self-assessments of center performance and operations.
- Support accurate and timely documentation for staff and student records
- Fully assumes leadership of the center in the absence of the Director, ensuring seamless operations and continuity of standards
Family and Community Engagement
- Conduct tours with prospective families and effectively communicate program value and quality
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families through consistent communication
- Ensure a positive and professional parent experience through engagement and follow through
- Support execution of center events, family engagement initiatives, and communication programs
What We Are Looking For
- A confident, steady leader with strong presence and the ability to inspire trust and respect
- Highly organized and forward thinking, plans ahead to set the school up for success, not just respond to daily needs
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solution focused in fast paced environments
- Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to balance warmth and accountability
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence performance, and drive results
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 plus years of center leadership or management experience preferred
