Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee design activities, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and budget constraints. Manage multiple projects, coordinating with architects, consultants, and District personnel. Ensure designs meet educational and building standards while maximizing budget efficiency. Oversee architectural firm selection and establish a structured design review process. Facilitate communication between design professionals and District administrators. Maintain project documentation for legal compliance and review design changes for budget alignment. Engage in community outreach and professional development initiatives. Collaborate with various District departments, including Environmental Health & Safety, A/E Design Services, and Maintenance & Operations. Requirements:
10+ years of professional experience managing facilities design, planning, and capital projects, including contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling. 5+ years specifically in the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or public agency projects. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited institution. Preferred: California Registered Architect or Professional Engineer license.
