Key Responsibilities • Advanced Modeling: Develop complex 3D structural models and 2D deliverables for traditional steel and concrete structures based on verbal instructions or rough sketches. • Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance for small design packages. Coordinate team tasks, balance workloads, and monitor progress to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met. • Coordination & Quality: Lead internal and cross-discipline package reviews. Perform clash adjudication and ensure all models align with rigorous department and client standards. • Technical Oversight: Proficiently verify the completeness and accuracy of your own work and the work of junior team members. Attend stakeholder meetings to resolve technical concerns and solve problems. • Innovation: Embrace emerging technologies and design automation to improve modeling efficiency and precision. • Field Support: Occasionally perform field walks to verify site conditions, which may include climbing ladders or navigating raised access environments.
Qualifications & Requirements • Education: Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) or equivalent technical training. • Experience: * Minimum of 5 years (7 preferred) of dedicated drafting/design experience in the structural field. • Minimum of 3 years (5 preferred) of expert-level Revit experience. • Technical Mastery: • Proven experience designing traditional steel and concrete structures. • Proficiency with Navisworks and Bluebeam for design review and coordination. • Interpersonal: Strong leadership and communication skills with a track record of guiding small technical teams. • Proximity: Must reside within 50 miles of the office for the 2-day-per-week on-site requirement.
Preferred Credentials • Experience with SmartPlant or Tekla. • Previous experience in General Industrial or Semiconductor facility design. • Strong background in design automation and emerging CAD technologies.
