Position Description
Under the direction of the AssociateAthletic Director for Strategic Communications, the Assistant Director ofCreative Content will play a key role in shaping and executing the visualstorytelling strategy for Seattle University Athletics. This position isresponsible for producing high-impact multimedia content (video, photographyand graphics) that enhances the Redhawk brand, drives fan engagement andsupports recruiting efforts across all sport programs-with a primary emphasison men's and women's basketball. Working collaboratively with strategic communications, marketing, andexternal relations teams, this role will help develop and maintain a cohesivecreative identity while delivering innovative, platform-specific content thatelevates the visibility of Seattle U Athletics on a local and national level.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Creative Content Development & Storytelling: Plan, produce and edit high-quality video, photo and graphic content for digital, social and recruiting platforms. Lead the full creative process from concept development and storyboarding through capture and post-production. Develop compelling narratives that highlight student athletes, coaches and programs while reinforcing the Seattle U Athletics brand. Ensure all creative outputs align with departmental brand standards, voice and visual identity. Sport Program Support (Men's & Women's Basketball Emphasis). Serve as the primary creative content lead for men's and women's basketball, including practices, games, recruiting activities and special events. Provide creative support for official and unofficial recruiting visits, including personalized content for prospective student athletes. Maintain and refresh recruiting materials to reflect current roster, achievements and program direction. Extend support to all other sport programs through strategic content creation and collaboration. Social Media & Digital Strategy:
Assist in planning, creating and publishing content across all Seattle U Athletics social media channels. Develop content strategies that enhance engagement, grow audiences and position Seattle U as a leader in creative storytelling. Collaborate with communications and marketing staff to align messaging and maximize reach across platforms. Stay current on social media trends, emerging platforms and best practices to continuously innovate content. Gameday & Event Coverage:
Serve as a primary photographer/videographer for men's and women's basketball and select special events. Capture real-time content for in-game social media use and post-game storytelling. Produce feature content for special events, donor engagement and departmental initiatives. Creative Operations & Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams (marketing, communications, video production) to execute integrated campaigns. Maintain organized workflows, content libraries and production schedules. Manage and maintain creative equipment, ensuring proper usage and upkeep. Contribute to creative planning meetings and assist in developing long-term content calendars. Analytics & Innovation:
Monitor content performance and social media analytics to inform strategy and optimize future content. Utilize data-driven insights to refine storytelling approaches and improve engagement. Continuously explore new creative techniques, technologies and storytelling formats. Student Athlete & Brand Promotion:
Create content that enhances student athlete visibility, supports NIL opportunities and promotes the overall student athlete experience. Identify and amplify key storytelling moments across teams and throughout the academic year. Leadership &Management:
Supervise and schedule student worker support creative staff.
Compliance:
Ensure all content and activities comply with Seattle University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, multimedia production, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in creative content production, preferably within collegiate athletics, sports, or a related field. Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.). Experience with photography, videography, lighting and audio production. Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content trends. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication, organizational and collaboration skills. PreferredQualifications:
Experience working with Division I athletics programs, particularly basketball. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting and student athlete promotion. Experience developing recruiting-focused creative content. Familiarity with social media analytics tools and content management systems. Experience mentoring or supervising student interns or part-time staff. Key Competencies

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $50,000 - $54,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that representsits good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at thetime of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will bedetermined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selectedcandidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equityconsiderations, and available market information, and not based on acandidate's gender or any other protected status.
