About

Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 2 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in the Department of Healthcare & Medical Services. In this role, you will provide advanced, patient-centered physical therapy evaluation and treatment to diverse patient populations in alignment with our mission to improve and save lives with compassion and high-quality care. Working within our collaborative, inclusive culture that emphasizes integrity, compassion, and accountability, you will serve as a key clinical resource to patients, families, and colleagues.
As a Physical Therapist 2, you will independently perform comprehensive physical therapy assessments, including evaluation of strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, gait, functional mobility, and pain. Using evidence-based practice, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and prevent or limit permanent disability. You will provide therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, gait and balance training, functional mobility training, and patient and family education.
You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, set functional goals, and contribute to safe discharge planning. You will regularly document assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record in accordance with Methodist Health System policies, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines. As a Physical Therapist 2, you may also mentor new graduates, therapy assistants, and students by providing guidance, clinical instruction, and feedback to support their professional growth and ensure quality care.
The Physical Therapist 2 is expected to demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning, prioritize caseload effectively, and adapt treatment approaches to meet the needs of patients across the continuum of care, which may include acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient services depending on the assigned setting. You will educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, safe mobility techniques, proper use of assistive devices, fall prevention strategies, and strategies to maximize independence and quality of life. You will also participate in performance improvement activities, contribute to program development, and support initiatives that enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Within the culture of Methodist Health System, you will be encouraged to uphold high ethical standards, respect diversity, and participate actively in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will be expected to maintain current knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in physical therapy through continuing education, in-services, and professional development. In addition, you may be involved in specialty programs such as orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, or post-surgical recovery, depending on organizational needs and your experience and interests.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist who demonstrates strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting, managing a varied caseload, and collaborating across disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Methodist Health System offers a supportive work environment, opportunities for growth, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being as you help us serve patients and communities across Texas.
