Cyber Security Architect
on a contract basis. This role will play a key part in designing and delivering secure technology solutions across a range of programmes and projects. Role Responsibilities Collaborate with business, technical, operational, and third-party stakeholders to gather requirements and design secure solutions
Produce high-level and low-level architecture and design artefacts aligned to programme objectives
Provide technical leadership and guidance across the full secure development lifecycle, particularly within cloud and DevOps environments
Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions
Contribute to architecture governance, including participation in design authority and review boards
Support the development and evolution of security architecture frameworks, standards, and best practices
Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to embed “secure by design” principles across cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines
Assess existing environments and recommend improvements to enhance overall security posture
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational and industry security standards
Key Skills & Experience Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven experience producing architecture and design documentation
Deep understanding of cloud security, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments
Experience with secure DevOps practices and modern cloud-based architectures
Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001/27002, NCSC guidance, Cyber Essentials, NIS/CAF)
Experience in application security, including threat modelling, security reviews, and penetration testing
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (or equivalent)
Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Security Engineer/Architect) highly desirable
Desirable Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments or critical infrastructure sectors
