About
Our client is a large, privately held firm in the Greater Grand Rapids area. They are an industry-leader in manufacturing residential and commercial products and looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician and Controls Technician to join their team and make an immediate impact! The Engineering Technician will be responsible for advanced automation troubleshooting, gage and instrumentation calibration, machine programming, and opportunities to work with PLC's and problem diagnosis.
This role will: Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance, monitoring equipment performance and adjusting setups, calibrations, and alignments on production equipment to ensure production equipment is running as efficiently as possible.
Desired skills, education, and experience:
* Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing); or Equivalent Professional Experience
* Ability to work on 2nd or 3rd shift
* 2+ years of experience, with exposure to Automated Manufacturing, ideally in metals manufacturing (machining, welding, heat treating, coating, et cetera); Robotic Programming (Fanuc)
* high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment preferred;
* PLC (Allen Bradley) experience preferred;
* Ability to create a culture of safety, collaboration/teamwork, accountability, and trust.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience in robot programming, particularly with Fanuc robots or similar systems.
* Strong knowledge of distributed control systems and logic controllers.
* Familiarity with robotics, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing methodologies is preferred.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance in all tasks performed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
