Purpose of the role The Business Analyst will support the Business Process Innovation team in delivering process transformation, data analysis, and implementation support for client engagements. The role focuses on requirements gathering, process documentation, insights creation, cross-functional coordination, and supporting project execution from discovery through implementation.
Day-to-day tasks
Conduct data and process analysis to understand current-state operations
Document requirements, process flows, SOPs, and user stories
Support project leads across DMAIC phases—Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control
Prepare weekly reports, decks, and stakeholder updates
Gather inputs from internal and client teams
Support project planning, timelines, and risk mitigation
Coordinate with Technology, PMO, and Analytics teams
Attend internal & client meetings
Skills, knowledge, experience and exposure
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Systems, Analytics, or related field
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Lucidchart, Miro, or Figma
Airtable, Jira, or Asana
Power BI, Tableau or other BI tools
Strong analytical skills (Excel, data manipulation, process analysis)
Experience documenting requirements and process flows
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to executives
Ability to translate business needs into actionable recommendations
Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Nice-to-have skills
Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or ITSM methodologies
Consulting or transformation program experience
Familiarity with ERP systems or data warehouses
Basic SQL knowledge
Mindset and temperament to navigate the role
Analytical and structured thinker
High accountability
Detail-oriented yet adaptable
Comfortable in fast-paced environments
Collaborative and proactive
This is a remote role with flexibility for travel to client sites as needed. Candidates must be located in the greater Washington, DC area.
