Job Title: Software Engineering Manager

Type: Permanent - 4 day week

Location: Hybrid - 3 days p/week Hamburg Office; 1 day remote

Salary: €90 - €100K

TEC Partners are working with an excellent company who are currently looking for Software Engineering Manager.

You will also be responsible for a team of 10 - predominantly leading/managing but also some lighter hands-on work where required.

Important: due to the level and responsibilities of this role, a complete fluency in German and English is required. Candidates at B1/B2 level will not be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • You nurture the growth of both the team and individual employees, fostering their social and professional skills to empower, inspire, and enhance efficiency within work processes
  • You assist your team in autonomously and purposefully integrating requirements from concurrent development projects, following agile methodologies to achieve successful outcomes.
  • You'll collaborate with the team, assuming the responsibilities of a DevOps Engineer, to guarantee that robust development and quality assurance tools, along with an optimised build and deployment pipeline, underpin the team's daily operations effectively.
  • You serve as a coach for the team, utilising questioning and reflective techniques to address behaviours and challenges, fostering shifts in perspective, facilitating decision-making processes, and steering change initiatives.
  • As a vital member of the R&D Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in advancing the development domain by enhancing leadership, skills, methodologies, and processes.

Requirements:

  • You hold a university degree in computer science, engineering, or natural sciences, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in software development. Furthermore, you boast substantial professional expertise in managing development teams within product development contexts.
  • Your leadership style is characterised by situational adaptability, fostering a non-hierarchical and appreciative atmosphere when interacting with employees and colleagues, promoting equality and collaboration.
  • Proficient in both German and English, you excel in effective communication, demonstrating a positive and confident demeanour even amidst challenging circumstances.
  • Teamwork for you signifies collective strength. You possess the ability to persuade, inspire, and actively contribute to team cohesion towards shared objectives.
  • You embrace opportunities with courage, assuming entrepreneurial responsibility and making decisive choices. When confronted with challenges, you employ a balanced blend of analytical thinking, pragmatism, and creativity.
