CT Technologist

Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging studies to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions while upholding the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence. Working within a collaborative, patient‑centered environment, you will prepare and position patients for CT examinations, verify patient identification and orders, review clinical histories, and select appropriate imaging protocols based on the physician’s request and patient condition. You will operate advanced CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images, monitor patients during and after contrast administration, and follow strict radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure for patients, colleagues, and yourself. The CT Technologist will be responsible for proper venipuncture and IV contrast injection techniques, recognizing and responding promptly to signs of contrast reactions, and escalating concerns to nursing staff or physicians as necessary. You will ensure images are of diagnostic quality, adjust technical factors as needed, and transmit studies to the PACS system with accurate labeling and appropriate documentation. Collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team is essential, as you will clarify imaging requests, communicate critical findings or issues, and support efficient patient throughput in a fast‑paced hospital environment. You will maintain exam rooms and equipment in a clean and safe condition, perform basic equipment quality checks, and promptly report malfunctions or safety concerns. The role also includes verifying insurance or procedural requirements related to imaging, observing infection prevention protocols, ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, and providing clear explanations and reassurance to patients and families to reduce anxiety and promote a positive experience.
