Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Practitioner to manage end-to-end payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 200 employees. This role oversees both non-union and union payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. The ideal candidate is experienced in complex payroll environments, comfortable working independently, and able to support payroll-related questions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle payroll for all employees, including union and non-union populations
- Administer payroll using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate earnings, deductions, and compliance
- Review and validate timekeeping data from an external attendance system prior to payroll submission
- Manage union-related payroll requirements, including fringe benefits, deductions, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and union labor agreements
- Handle payroll adjustments, off-cycle runs, and employee inquiries
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, reports, and documentation to support audits and internal reviews
- Maintain accurate payroll records and support continuous process improvements
- Demonstrated experience running payroll for a mid-sized organization (200+ employees)
- Hands-on experience with union payroll, preferably within a construction environment
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or comparable payroll systems
- Familiarity with timekeeping/attendance systems; construction-specific platforms a plus, not required
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and union agreements
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
