Location: UCHealth UCHlth Memorial Hosp Central, US:CO:Colorado Springs Department: Echocardiography Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $40.40 - $56.56 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option Summary: Under supervision, performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to diagnose and treat cardiac and/or vascular conditions in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities: Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures with assistance from clinical preceptor (registered sonographer). Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Administering ultrasound enhancing agents within scope of practice. Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites. Informs patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Seeks assistance related to patient condition changes in status. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED and actively enrolled or graduate from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology OR Associate's degree in allied health OR a Bachelor's degree in any area.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
