About
Working in a fast-paced community hospital environment, you will carefully assess imaging orders, verify patient identity and history, and explain procedures in clear, comforting terms. You will position patients safely and accurately for CT and X-ray exams, select appropriate protocols, and apply radiation safety principles using ALARA guidelines to minimize exposure. You will start IV lines when needed, administer contrast material per protocol, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and escalate concerns promptly to nursing and medical staff.
The CT/Radiology Technologist will operate and troubleshoot advanced imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images that meet radiologist and provider expectations. You will review images for diagnostic adequacy, adjust techniques as needed, and promptly transmit studies through PACS while maintaining accurate documentation in the EHR and related systems. You will work closely with emergency department clinicians and other healthcare professionals to prioritize STAT exams, support trauma and critical patients, and adapt to changing clinical needs throughout the shift.
This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe and efficient imaging environment. You will follow all infection control and hospital safety policies, perform routine equipment quality checks, report malfunctions, and assist with maintaining accreditation and regulatory standards. You will contribute to continuous improvement by participating in performance initiatives, sharing best practices, and supporting the implementation of new protocols and technologies.
