Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer
Based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of electrical-based projects, ensuring technically sound engineering solutions.
- Plan and coordinate electrical engineering operations during plant shutdowns, including major maintenance activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for new equipment, utilizing your in-depth knowledge to address engineering failures and enhance plant reliability.
- Negotiate and manage key electrical contracts, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Work closely with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
- Accountable for budgeting, forecasting, and obtaining competitive quotes for all projects and work undertaken.
- Drive the development and modernisation of the plant to improve overall performance and reliability.
- Ensure all projects comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Control standards, including Permit Systems and Safe Working Procedures.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to resolve unexpected technical difficulties as they arise.
Person Specification:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering and project management, preferably within an industrial setting.
- Strong problem-solving and technical expertise, particularly in electrical plant operations and equipment.
- Comfortable working with external suppliers and contractors and experience in contract negotiation and management.
- A strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, ensuring compliance in all project activities.
- An excellent communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently, while also collaborating within a team to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Requirements:
