Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Project Development Engineer with a strong engineering background and customer-facing experience to support the development of distributed energy resources (DER) and energy efficiency, and demand management projects. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and developing energy projects-including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other energy efficiency and resiliency measures-for Commercial, Utility and Industrial (C&I) customers.The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong communication skills, enabling them to work directly with customers, internal engineering teams, and external stakeholders throughout the project development lifecycle.Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of DER projects from early-stage concepts through pre-construction, with a focus on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and integrated energy solutions.
Conduct technical and economic feasibility assessments for distributed energy resources, including energy storage, load management, and other energy measures.
Perform energy assessments and site evaluations for C&I customers to identify optimization, resilience, and decarbonization opportunities.
Act as a customer-facing technical lead, translating complex engineering concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
Develop project scopes, conceptual designs, and high-level system configurations for DER solutions.
Support financial modeling inputs by providing accurate technical assumptions, system sizing, and performance estimates.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, sales, finance, legal, offering, sourcing and construction) to advance projects through development milestones.
Coordinate with utilities, vendors, and technology providers on interconnection requirements, equipment selection, and system capabilities.
