As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the welfare, behaviour and attendance of our students. Working closely with the Head of Year and pastoral team, you will provide day to day support for students, families and staff, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring students feel safe, supported and ready to succeed.

You will take a proactive approach to attendance, supporting non-attending students through planned return programmes where necessary. You will respond to student drop in concerns, provide restorative conversations, liaise with external agencies and contribute to maintain accurate pastoral records. You will also provide on call support when required and assist with first aid (training provided).

  • Have experience working with children or young people and understand the importance of safeguarding
  • Can confidently build relationships with families and external agencies
  • Are able to de-escalate situations and respond to students in a supportive and professional manner
  • Are organised, proactive and able to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Can work well as part of a team but are equally comfortable using your initiative
