About
*Newark Manor* is seeking a day nurse to help care for our residents. We are a smaller home providing a home like environment for our residents who need medical care, with an appreciation for home and work life balance.
*Responsibilities: *
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
Administer medications and injections as prescribed
Assist with patient assessments and physical examinations. Communicate with DON
Perform basic life support measures in emergency situations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
Document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and treatment provided
Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
Assist with case management for patients with chronic conditions or complex healthcare needs
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding healthcare management
*Qualifications: *
Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as Athenahealth, for medical documentation
Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and safety
Ability to suture wounds and provide wound care as needed
Experience in case management for patients with chronic conditions or complex healthcare needs
Familiarity with occupational health practices, including physical examinations and health screenings
Basic life support certification
Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities in a compassionate and supportive manner
