About

As a Welding Inspector, you’ll make visual and measured inspection of products to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements. You may inspect incoming materials or plates, outgoing materials, or fittings and weld throughout the manufacturing process. The Welding Inspector may apply singular inspection processes, such as destructive, and non-destructive examination to verify specified dimensions, strengths, and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities_:_
· None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Performs assigned, routine visual inspections and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
· Tests, inspects, and approves raw materials based on established quality specifications.
· Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing process.
· Uses statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate quality of full product batch prior to delivery.
· Compares results of inspections and tests to company’s quality standards, reports results to supervisor for final analysis and action steps.
· Develops, maintains, and posts logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data, and results of special quality studies for review by line mechanics, supervisors, and other production staff.
· Consults with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
· Maintains quality records as needed.
· Work under the supervision of a Level 2 certified inspector.
· Follow all safety rules and practices.
· Reviewing Non-Conforming Material and start investigation process
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.
· Able to read and understand fabrication drawings and familiar with welding symbols.
· Attention to detail.
· Proficiently utilize inspection tools and/or measuring equipment.
· Thorough knowledge and skill in everything welding.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide feedback based on your interpretations and analysis.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the project
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma, technical school education, or equivalent required; mathematics emphasis preferred.
· *The ability to obtain CWI certification within 2 years is required*.
Physical Requirements:
· Can continuously stand for 7.5 to 10 hours.
· Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
· Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment or gauges.
· Must pass an eye exam
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
