Opal is building a series of new devices, that give consumers exciting new abilities. It's more than cameras. Focus: Bridge hardware and firmware by designing electronic systems and the code that runs them, enabling seamless, intelligent, and reliable user experiences. 2–6 years of experience developing both electronic hardware and embedded firmware for consumer devices. Design, build, and validate schematics, PCBs, and circuits for wireless, audio, and sensor-driven systems. Develop low-level firmware, drivers, and communication stacks to tightly integrate hardware and software. Optimize for low-power, battery-constrained environments while ensuring high performance and reliability. Integrate wireless connectivity (Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, GSM) into compact, latency-sensitive devices. Create test fixtures, validation tools, and manufacturing diagnostics to scale hardware and firmware quality. Fluent in C/C++ for embedded development, Python for tooling, and proficient with schematics + layout design in a E-CAD tool of choice. xywuqvp Participate in cross-functional design reviews across hardware, firmware, and product design.
