*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough inspections of rolling stock components, including brakes, wheels, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using specialized tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
* Perform repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance on train cars to uphold safety standards and operational efficiency.
* Utilize technical manuals and schematics to accurately identify issues and execute repair procedures.
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance and tracking purposes.
* Collaborate with team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure minimal disruption to service operations.
* Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience as a mechanic specializing in rolling stock or similar transportation equipment.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and troubleshooting techniques.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing.
* Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation accurately.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail in diagnosing issues quickly and effectively.
* Relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
* Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs floor to waist; 40 lbs waist to shoulders; twist, reach, climb, kneel and bend. Satisfactory pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
