About

You will lead our Data Engineering team and work directly within our client’s Google Cloud environment alongside their internal data team. Your focus will be building and maintaining the data pipelines that support ongoing delivery.
This varies role requires a combination of great communication and team leadership with solid Data Engineering technical expertise to coordinate and give support to our brilliant team.
The role ensures that our client is happy with our work and that the team is organised, motivated and all deliverables are of high quality and closely aligned with the broader data platform architecture and business objectives.
This key delivery member oversees engineering priorities, dependencies, and identifies risks and blockers, resolving issues to maintain delivery momentum. They ensure engineering work is consistent with agreed technical approaches and the overall platform direction. As well as providing technical direction and clarification to engineers they ensure work adheres to best practices for scalability, reliability, and maintainability, addressing incidents and errors promptly to minimise business impact.
Responsibilities include:
* Communicating technical issues, impacts, and resolutions clearly to relevant stakeholders.
* Setting expectations and guide best practices
* Conducting thorough code and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
* Coaching engineers through regular one-to-one sessions, career development discussions, and goal setting.
* Identifying technical risks and opportunities early, shapes new workstreams and defining clear success measures for delivery and outcomes.
* Internal liaison with the commercial team
Skills and Experience
* Solid Experience designing and maintaining production data pipelines and data models
* Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern cloud data platforms
* Experience integrating digital marketing or analytics platforms such as Google Analytics
* Understanding of marketing data concepts including campaign tracking, attribution, and performance metrics
* Ability to translate marketing and business questions into structured data models
* Ecperience of managing a small team and mentoring individuals
