Summary:
Provide technological support to all stakeholders of the district, including staff, students & families. Perform responsibilities necessary for the daily maintenance and operations of all systems and technologies throughout the school district.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Support
Provide Mahtomedi Public Schools stakeholders with technology support, including in providing remote and on-site technology support throughout the district. Assist end-users by determining and/or troubleshooting problems with hardware, and software. Deploy software packages to automate operating system installations and software updates. Manage and maintain Help Desk Tickets by addressing issues as they are submitted and throughout the troubleshooting and resolution process. Provide training and support for the district's technological resources, including Google Workspace, GoGuardian and other district systems. Monitor issues with wired and wireless network connectivity using hardware and software tools. Collaborates with the other technology staff to resolve hardware, software, and other technology related issues. Assists in supporting hardware and software systems for online testing. Utilize monitoring software and tools to diagnose potential issues for stakeholders and classroom connectivity, which is critical to daily operations. Installs and configures local and network printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Maintenance & Tracking of Licensing for Hardware & Software Systems
Maintain inventory of Chromebooks, iPads, PCs and other devices for their designated buildings. Maintain licensing in Google Workspace for Education and other district systems. Remain current in software and hardware trends. Maintain users, phone directories and 911 database information to ensure safety in their designated buildings. Maintains district web pages and contact lists. Maintain instructional systems classrooms, including SmartBoards and other technical lab equipment (Fab Labs). Implementation & Support for Hardware & Software Systems
Assists in the implementation of new technology and information systems for the District. Participates in training opportunities provided by the district and outside entities. Assists with installation, placement, storage, maintenance, & inventory. Supports and maintains database for end-user accounts. Provide general network troubleshooting following established protocols. Maintains systems including the installation of equipment and hardware/software upgrades following protocols. Remains current in software and hardware trends. Vendor and Project Management
Collaborate with vendors to manage projects to support the specific systems and is a liaison between users and vendors (i.e., Printer repairs). Provide updates information for projects, including documentation and communication with all stakeholders. Education/Certification Requirement:
An Associate's degree in computer science, A+ or MCP Certification, or a minimum of 2 years' equivalent work experience. Google Admin Certification or ability to obtain upon hiring.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience with Windows 11, SCCM and Active Directory. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and solving technical issues. Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of technology equipment. Demonstrated human relations skills including the ability to work effectively with non-technical as well as technical individuals. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work effectively with limited supervision. Willingness to expand technology skills. Ability to take directions from supervisor. Ability to keep information confidential.
