What We Offer:

We are seeking an experienced Trauma Program Nurse Manager (TPM) to lead the clinical, administrative, and educational operations of our hospital’s trauma program. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with state regulations and American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards while supporting the delivery of high-quality trauma care.

The ideal candidate will either be certified as a Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and/or Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) Certification. Relocation assistance is available for this position!

The TPM will oversee trauma registry operations, lead performance improvement (PI) initiatives and audits, coordinate interdisciplinary trauma teams, and drive community injury prevention programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative clinical leader passionate about advancing trauma care and program excellence.

Work Schedule:   Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Education:

4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelors Degree in Nursing, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.

Experience: 

    • Minimum two years demonstrated leadership experience.
    • Minimum three years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting.
    • Trauma Program management experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    • TCRN, TNCC, AIS and/or TCN certification preferred.
    • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
    • Board certification in area of practice, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): Understands and applies: current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management.
What You'll Do:
  • Injury Prevention & Outreach: Develop, implement, and evaluate community-based trauma education and prevention programs to reduce injuries.
  • Performance Improvement & Patient Safety (PIPS): Lead clinical reviews, monitor outcomes, identify trends, and implement corrective actions for trauma care quality.
  • Regulatory & Registry Compliance: Ensure documentation accuracy, maintain registry data integrity, and lead preparation for state designation and ACS verification.
  • Program Administration: Manage the trauma budget, develop protocols, coordinate committee meetings, and serve as a liaison between trauma services and hospital leadership.
  • Education & Training: Organize and deliver training to staff regarding trauma standards, protocols, and best practices.
