Your Role
Cordogan Clark is looking to hire an experienced licensed Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Cleveland, OH office. The Electrical professional will play a key role in developing and coordinating MEP systems in collaboration with architectural and engineering staff. The ideal candidate has a strong background in either mechanical or electrical systems design (or both), with experience in multidisciplinary environments. This position will be counted on to mentor and nurture the professional development of staff, as well as work on a variety of project types firmwide. A PE license is preferred.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing integration with architectural and electrical groups. Candidate will work on multiple projects concurrently and coordinate work in progress between firm offices, as well as outside consultants. The successful candidate must have the ability to multi-task and possess excellent communication skills. Responsibilities will include all aspects of project development including computer modeling, construction documents, field reports, client coordination, meetings, site visits and submittal reviews. An ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of design work for HVAC systems, equipment, and concepts with an emphasis on boiler systems. A working understanding of building codes and standards affecting electrical systems is a plus.
The Specifics of the Role
* Collaborate with Architects and project teams to develop integrated MEP system designs.
* Prepare and review electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
* Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sustainable design practices.
* Perform site visits, surveys, and construction administration support.
* Provide technical expertise during design and construction phases.
* Coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve field and design issues.
* Provide mentorship to junior staff.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
* 5 or more years of relevant experience in building systems electrical engineering design, including demonstrated experience designing multiple and complex projects.
* Licensed professional engineer registered in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and/or Missouri, or with the capability of becoming registered in each state.
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and applicable analysis software.
* Solid knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and design standards.
* Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in a design firm or architecture-integrated practice is strongly preferred.
