Private Health system in Maryland is seeking a dedicated and dynamic physician leader to serve as the Associate Program Director (APD) for a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program . This is an exciting opportunity to help build and shape a residency program within a rapidly expanding academic health system and a newly established osteopathic medical school.

Over 70,000 Emergency Department visits annually

Service area of more than 200,000 patients across Washington County and neighboring regions in West Virginia and Pennsylvania

Nearly 4,000 trauma cases per year

Transitioning from a Level III to a Level II Trauma Center

Position Overview

Support the development, ACGME accreditation, and implementation of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program

Assist in building a program grounded in clinical excellence, innovation, and community-focused care

Provide leadership in curriculum development, resident education, and program evaluation

Serve as a key educator and mentor for residents and medical students

Administrative and clinical responsibilities will be structured to support both program development and clinical practice.

$425,000 base salary plus sign on bonus

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Program Director with preparation and submission of ACGME accreditation materials

Participate in curriculum design, implementation, and continuous improvement

Supervise, teach, and mentor residents in clinical and didactic settings

Contribute to resident evaluation, feedback, and milestone assessment processes

Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding of residents

Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional policies

Participate in scholarly activity, quality improvement, and program innovation
