*Position Summary*
The Executive Sous Chef is a senior culinary leader responsible for driving daily kitchen operations, team performance, and production excellence across all departments.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. The Executive Sous Chef leads the kitchen floor, ensures production systems are executed consistently, develops team members, and reinforces a culture of accountability, organization, and high standards.
This is a unique opportunity within a high-volume, chef-driven catering operation that primarily operates on a *daytime schedule*. While occasional evening event support is required during peak season, the majority of this role is focused on daytime production leadership.
The ideal candidate is an experienced culinary leader who thrives in structured, fast-paced environments and is passionate about building strong teams and delivering consistent, high-quality results at scale.
*Responsibilities*
*Kitchen Leadership & Team Development*
* Lead and manage kitchen team members across all departments, setting clear expectations for performance, accountability, and professionalism
* Coach, train, and develop team members to improve skill, efficiency, and consistency
* Address performance issues directly while fostering a positive, high-expectation team culture
*Production Oversight & Execution*
* Own daily production flow, ensuring all departments are organized, on schedule, and aligned with event needs
* Partner with the Director of Kitchen Operations and department leads to execute realistic and effective production plans
* Maintain strong floor presence, troubleshooting in real time and supporting production across departments as needed
*Systems, Organization & Efficiency*
* Ensure kitchen systems, prep schedules, and workflows are followed consistently
* Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste
* Monitor labor utilization and maintain strong organization across all areas of the kitchen
*Quality Control & Culinary Standards*
* Ensure all food meets company standards for taste, consistency, presentation, and portioning
* Enforce adherence to standardized recipes and production methods
* Partner with culinary leadership on menu execution and continuous improvement
*Inventory, Food Safety & Cleanliness*
* Oversee product storage, rotation, and walk-in organization
* Ensure all food safety, allergen, and sanitation standards are consistently followed
*Event Support & Operational Flexibility*
* Provide on-site culinary leadership for events as needed, particularly during peak season
* Support the transition from production to event execution and adapt to changing operational needs

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
