Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent
Grade: SC2
Target Salary: £42,642 per annum
Location: Peterborough Head Office - 4 Cyrus Way, Hampton, Peterborough, PE7 8HP
Working Pattern: Hybrid working at the discretion of the line manager and based on business requirements
Start Date: Ideally 1st July 2026 preferred, however this is flexible for the right candidate
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week between 08:00–18:00, with the option for part ‑ time and flexible working patterns.
To act as the functional systems lead for all systems used within and connected to, the Finance environment, ensuring the integrity, optimisation and continuous improvement of Finance systems.
The role is responsible for the configuration, governance and operational support of systems, ensuring they support CITB’s financial control framework and statutory obligations.
This role will be required to interact closely with Digital, Data & Technology ( DDaT ) colleagues who will oversee the systems operating environment.
What you’ll be doing:
• Act as functional system lead for Finance system modules. Maintain configuration of the finance system including chart of accounts, cross validation rules, accounting rules, approval workflows etc.
• Own the Finance systems change control processes in BAU. Assess system change requests for financial control impact, segregation of duties, audit implications working with DDaT , People and other teams as necessary for configuration and integration changes alongside maintaining system documentation
• Ensure system configuration supports internal controls, audit requirements, tax compliance.
• Act as Finance lead for OTBI and BI Publisher reporting. Maintain seeded reports and oversee development of custom reports where required. Ensure integrity of GL balances, subledger reconciliations, budget uploads. Support Power BI reporting teams with data interpretation.
• Own Finance data governance across Finance systems. Oversee the supplier, customer master, bank and asset data. Support future data migration cycles where required and ensure ongoing reconciliation and data cleansing processes are embedded
• Identify opportunities to optimise Finance processes within standard system functionality (adopt not adapt protocol). Monitor and implement relevant updates, working with DDaT assessing Finance impact, ensuring all necessary testing is completed. Recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and automation.
Key contacts and relationships:
Internal:
• Working with the wider finance function to support the BAU configuration and maintenance of Finance systems
• Working with the DDaT & People functions to implement changes to Finance systems.
External:
• Developing and maintaining good working relationships with third party system integrators, providers and support teams.
What we’re looking for:
Essential
• Experience of ERP implementation, upgrades or major system migration.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Experience working between Finance and IT functions.
Desirable
• Finance qualification ( CIMA,ACCA , ACA or equivalent) or part qualification
• Experience administering Oracle Fusion Finance modules.
• Experience in public sector environments.
• Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (functional understanding).
• Knowledge of OTBI and BI Publisher reporting tools
May exceptionally be required to travel to other locations within the UK
