This role strengthens our analytics foundation in a
GCP-first
environment and delivers trusted reporting to stakeholders. You will design scalable datasets, improve data reliability, and own reporting products (dashboards + underlying data layers).

GitHub , and designed to be reliable for the business.

Reports to the Chief Information Officer.
Technical environment
Distributed workforce with our corporate headquarters in Chicago and a strong presence in Atlanta, London, Toronto, and New York City.
Google Workspace
is the primary productivity suite.
Key responsibilities Data foundation
Build and maintain curated datasets and reporting/semantic layers (views/models) in
GCP , including
BigQuery .
Able to write solid production SQL (joins, aggregations; performance-aware patterns as you grow).
Establish standards for definitions, documentation, and repeatability.
Analytics products and reporting
Own and improve dashboards and reporting products (currently including
Looker Studio ).
Collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics and ensure reporting matches business needs.
Improve dashboard usability and reliability (refresh logic, metric consistency, clarity).
Build pragmatic automations that reduce manual effort and improve data workflows.
Work where appropriate with Google-native automation patterns (e.g., scheduled jobs, scripts, orchestrated tasks).
Integrations and data movement
Partner on data movement across SaaS platforms using tools and patterns like
Celigo ,
APIs ,
webhooks , and imports/exports.
Support analytics needs that require bringing data in/out of vendor platforms (without owning vendor product configuration).
Tooling evaluation
Help evaluate and recommend the right
data platform and BI tooling
as needs evolve, balancing usability, cost, security, and maintainability.
Skills and qualifications Required Skills (5-8+ years experience)
Strong analytical and engineering mindset; you build foundations, not just outputs. (5+ years in analytics/data/engineering‑adjacent roles)
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure (definitions, documentation, repeatability).
Data Architecture & Data Modeling (3+ years)
Strong communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
GCP experience , including
BigQuery . (5+ years)
Comfortable with
GitHub
and standard development practices. (3+ years)
Familiarity with secure engineering practices (e.g., secrets management, least privilege, avoiding credentials in source control). (5+ years)
Expectation:
all code in source control
(SQL, scripts, docs, lightweight tooling).
Preferred Skills
Dashboard/reporting experience (Looker Studio experience is a plus). (1+ years)
Familiarity with modern data workflows and basic modeling concepts. (2+ years)
Comfort using
Docker
to run and ship repeatable data tooling. (1+ years)
Comfortable operating in
GCP
beyond BigQuery (e.g.,
Cloud Console , IAM basics, service accounts, scheduled jobs). (2+ years)
Experience with iPaaS/integration patterns (e.g., Celigo) is a plus.
Exposure to Tableau/Alteryx environments and modernization paths. (1+ years)
Interest in low‑code platforms (e.g., OutSystems) is a plus
Comfort using AI assistants (including Google Gemini and ChatGPT) to accelerate analysis and development workflows, with good judgment about data sensitivity and safe usage.

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: $110k – $140k per year (This range reflects the employer’s good‑faith expectations for compensation based on internal pay scales, budget, and market standards. Actual pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.)
